Connect your AI assistant

Let Claude or ChatGPT read your strategy by connecting it to Alaigned, and disconnect it when you are done

Your AI assistant can work with your strategy without you leaving the chat. Once connected, it can read the one-pagers you have access to in the active strategy version, together with the links between them, and answer questions, summarise or draft with that in hand. It cannot change anything in Alaigned.

The connection is yours: the assistant acts as you, in your workspace, and sees exactly what you would see.

Connections are off until an administrator turns them on for your workspace. If you see "Your workspace does not allow AI assistant connections" when you try to connect, ask your administrator — see For administrators below.

Connect

Your workspace has its own connector address: the address you sign in at, followed by /mcp — for example https://acme.alaigned.com/mcp. Your administrator can copy it from Company Profile → Overview → Feature Flags. The address listed in the connector directories and in the Alaigned Strategy plugin, https://mcp.alaigned.com/mcp, opens a demo workspace with a sample strategy so you can try the assistant before connecting your own; it never shows your data.

  1. In your assistant, add Alaigned as a connector with your workspace's address. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http alaigned https://<workspace>.alaigned.com/mcp and then /mcp to sign in; in claude.ai or ChatGPT, add a custom connector with that address; in Copilot Studio, add an MCP server with that address and OAuth 2.0, "Dynamic (with discovery)".
  2. Your browser opens your workspace in Alaigned.
  3. Sign in if you are not signed in yet.
  4. Read what the assistant will be able to do, then click Approve.

The assistant is now connected. Ask it about your strategy: it fetches the current version each time, so it always works with what is in Alaigned right now.

What the assistant can do

  • See how your strategy is organised — which one-pagers there are, on which level, who owns each of them, when it last changed and how its initiatives stand by evaluation status. The assistant can tell you which one-pagers are yours and link you straight to any of them in Alaigned.
  • Find one-pagers — by level, by branch of the organization, by owner, by tag, by evaluation status, or by words in their texts. Ask "which teams work on anything about automation" or "what is red under Marketing" and it looks for the one-pagers itself.
  • Tell you how the strategy is doing — how many initiatives are green, orange or red, by level and by the pillar they cascade from, which ones need attention and what their owners wrote about them. When your organization runs a governance period, it also sees which one-pagers have confirmed their evaluation and which still owe it. It covers the one-pagers whose evaluation status you can see yourself, and needs the same permission as the Strategy Evaluation report.
  • Read your one-pagers and the links between them — the one-pagers you can open in Alaigned, in the active strategy version, with their pillars, definitions of success, initiatives, goals and narratives. It reads only the one-pagers a question needs, or all of them when you ask for an export. It sees the evaluation status only where you see it yourself.
  • Stay connected without asking you to sign in again — only when the assistant asks for it, so you are not sent back to the consent page every hour.

Everything it reads is recorded in the workspace's audit log, like any other access to your strategy.

Disconnect

  1. Open Account Settings from your avatar menu.
  2. Under Connected assistants, find the assistant — each one shows when it was connected and when it last read your strategy.
  3. Click Disconnect and confirm.

The assistant loses access immediately; the next time you ask it about your strategy it will ask you to connect again. Removing the Alaigned connector on the assistant's side has the same effect.

For administrators

The connector is available to every workspace, but off until you turn it on: open Company Profile → Overview tab → Feature Flags and switch on AI assistant connections. The workspace's connector address appears under the switch with a copy button — that is what your users add in their assistant. From then on anyone in the workspace can connect their assistant. A user can only connect an assistant to a workspace they can sign in to, and the assistant only ever sees what that user can see. Deleting a user's account ends their assistant's access as well. Connections and disconnections appear in the workspace's audit log.

Turning the switch off again keeps AI assistants out of your workspace: nobody can connect one, and every assistant already connected loses access on its next request. Turning it back on lets the connections that were already made work again. An assistant that gave up on its connection in the meantime is connected again the usual way.

While the switch is off, a user who tries to connect sees "Your workspace does not allow AI assistant connections" instead of the consent page.
